im swapping a b16 in my 91 teg, and the original tranny is a A1 (well i guess original, everything on this car is coming back to be diffferant), what is this tranny? ive looked everwhere , but i cant find any info on it.

i know my friend has one in his now, and it seems to be limited slip, but i dont know, i do know both wheels are spinning when he does his burnout at the track.

what is this tranny? and wheat is the benefit or problems when i put the a1 tranny on the b16?

thanks for any help guys!

Its nothing special.

A1's and S1's ar the same, tehy are USDM trannies and DO NOT have LSD. These trannies were used from 90-91 they are not special at all.

Its referred to as the LS tranny, same gears as the YS1 (except 92-93 GSR which is also the YS1)

I dont think any B sereis Cable tranny came with LSD here in the states.

The gears inthe a-1 are very similar to the 94-01 GSR tranny ratios... My friends and I run dead even when shifting. he's got a 95 GSR, to my B16a with the A-1. Definitely NON-LSD as was mentioned.
