Cranked over the CRX today and it finally fired up. Had to throw a big thanks out to HondaSwap as this site has been my primary source of information since I started this project almost 3 years ago. That's right 3 years...through personal setbacks, home additions, the birth of my 2nd child, and countless home improvement projects it finally got done. It wouldnt have happened if not for this site.

Here's the build:
1989 Crx Si chassis
1990 B18A Acura Integra (from salvage yard in Fontana, CA)
Custom pistons from JE
Transmission from Ebay
ACT Clutch
HASport Mounts
HASport Shift linkage
ACT Streetlite Flywheel
Countless others from pick-a-part

It was my first engine build and swap so I took it easy. Getting an ecu code 5 (map sensor) so I'll take a look at that later. What's important is she fired up and sounds good. I'll check back periodically if anyone doing this build has questions I can help with.

BIG THANKS to HondaSwap and all the people who answered my questions.

:thankyousigna2:

:worthy:

That's AWESOME! Congrats! This site is the shit. Go ahead, you know you want to open your window right now and shout it out, at...one forty seven in the morning Florida time. :D

Congratulations, and you're welcome! I'm glad that the site was such a big help. Now fix that error code quickly- you don't want to hurt your new engine!

I think I found the problem with the MAP sensor. The small metal tube that connects the vacuum lines between the throttle body and the map sensor was plugged. A little intake cleaner blew it right out.

But it's too late to fire the car tonite (currently without an exhaust system, headers only) so I wont know until tomorrow.

That plugged vacuum line was the problem. No more CEL, no more codes. Took it for a short test drive last nite (still no exhaust) and it runs and shifts perfectly. Idle is nice and stable, everything seems great.

I left it out of my original build description but this was much more than just a swap. I tore this motor down to nothing. It was a complete rebuild: had the block bored and decked, crank was polished, new bearings, new gaskets, new seals, rings, pistons, clutch, throw out bearing.....a lot of work. I'm having the down pipe modified today so exhaust will be done by the weekend.

What a great feeling to finally be done with it and able to drive it around. Once I get everything properly broken in I'll open it up and see what it can really do.
