camshafts help!!!
okay so i bought a b17a1 head for my lsv project and it came with these cams..just wondering if any could identify these...i dont think there stock but....can any one help..i browsed for itr/ctr cams, gsr,b16 and seen pics but im alil confused..thanks in advanced!!!

Get a digital caliper and measure the sides that are still round (base circle) and then measure the sides that are more of the points (lift). Subtract the smaller from the longer on each lobe and that will give you a measurement which to start comparing cam dimensions.
Also, look for any engraved numbers or markings other than the casting marks. That would indicate an aftermarket cam.. Some of the OLD honda stuff used to have a paint smear on them but the oils would discolor them and wouldn't give the right color. Other than that they are probably stock and the p/o jsut stuck adj. gears on them to make up. E |
