adjust the cable all the way out..put the cable on the bottom of the fork..now pull up and put the tightener onto the bracket..make sure you adjust the cable all the way out before doing so..

the bracket looks bent back and up...
but if not..try unbolting the bracket.putting the lower piece on then rebolt it up.. you cant pull the clutch arm up anymore? __________________

i'm not sure if the bracket is bent at all... but the clutch arm should definitely move up enough to allow you to slide the cable in.

I'd bet money that the little holder fell out of the firewall. Put it back in, lock it into place, and everything should fit just fine.

maybe there's something wrong with the clutch?
because the arm is not supposed to drop back down once the cable is in place. you're supposed to tighten the cable till you can feel it start to get tight. this would indicate the throwout bearing has just begun to touch the fingers on the pressure plate. so if you cannot press the pedal down at all then either the cable is binding somehow, or the there is something wrong with the clutch assembly. __________________
