im just wondering if it would be a terrible idea for me to put a b16a engine and tranny into my 91 civic hb myself, or should i get a mechanic to do it, im sure i am capable of it, but i dunno mabye its quite complicated let me know thanks.

it all depends on your capabilities....its really easy to pull the old motor and put the new one in..the only trouble is wiring

If you have an si model then you only have to add 4 wires. Any person should be fully capable of doing that.

its a 91 std (4 speed, with a 16 valve d15b2) how many wires do i have to add for that because wiring was the main thing that worried me, also where do you redommend i get teh engine, im sure you guys have been to the jdm websites posted on hondaswap so would it be wise to buy from there or any advice on buying?

they are fairly cheap and all ive heard about them was good things...
and as for wiring go to DPFI to MPFI writeup for wiring...

alright, im sure i can manage that, but stupid question... where can i get this stuff?
1 black OBDo ecu connector with pins
1 OBDo MPFI engine harness dizzy plug w/wires
1 MPFI ecu
1 injector box (with enough wire to solder to)
wire close to factory colors as possibly


assuming this wiring method applies for all 91 civic models including the std

You are going to need different spindles for that swap also. Get some from a dx, si, or ex model civic
