Just finished my swap OBD1 B16A into '89 SI. Tried to start but fuel pump does not start. I have looked uup otgher threads but no one had a solution. Verified wiring and from what I can see all is good. What connections would cause the fuel pump to not work?
Only odd thing about my set up is I am running a P30 ECU with a chip for a Vision P72. From my understanding this should work no problem. Also I did not connect he wire for the check engine since i didn't know where to connect it too. Any help as to where to look would be appreciated. |

the main thing that people overlook which causes the fuel pump not to work is the ground wire connection at the thermostat housing - this is the ground for the ECU, Main Relay (which runs the fuel pump) and most of the engine sensors

Your engine grounds are on the valve cover to the frame. And the transmission is the large one, to the frame. Nothing has to do with the "rear mount". Engine mounts are insulated from the chassis by thick rubber - they provide NO ground. __________________

Thanks for the clarification Nikozai. I should have ben more clear there was a bracket next to the rear engine mount that I connected it too. The conenction was incoorect so moving it helped nd worked.
Now there is no fuel. Checked my distributer wires and they are fine. The five wires (4 red and 1 yellow/black) have been capped off where the resistor is. Wire are new Nology's and plugs are NGK Iridiums. Where else could prevent no spark? |
