Here's the deal. I'm getting a B18A1 from a 92 Integra for free (actually, getting the whole car for free). I'm planning on putting it into my 89 CRX Si. I've done some research, I know that I'll need (fron the Teg) the motor (duh), tranny, ecu, axles and the shift linkage, and also a mount kit.

I've asked around, everybody seems to tell me that it's a pretty straight forward swap, that I won't need to do any wiring since my car is already MPFI. One of my friends who knows his Hondas inside and out and has done plenty of swaps brought up a good point that the B18 is OBD1. He told me that if I was to get 90-91 Integra (OBD0) distributor, injectors and throttle body that it would eliminate the need for me to do the OBD1 wiring. Is this true? or is there another way around this?

Well Joe, I'm on the same boat as yourself. Right now I already have the '92 B18A on my '91 CRX. Therefore, I'm also curious. Some of the differences are as follow:

-The CRX uses a dashpot solenoid and valve which are not used on the B18A.
-The manifold absolute pressure sensors are different.
-The B18A has a fuel regulator control solenoid valve which the CRX wiring has no provisions for.
-The B18A uses a heated o2 sensor with four cables instead of an o2 sensor with only one.

Bump.... I'm doing the same exact swap. I have everything i need but im also confused with the wiring. I have the OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness, but im not sure if thats the only wiring that has to be done

... I'm confused wether to use the Si engine wiring harness, or the integra one

It is true that if you get those parts you will not need to wire for obd1. I'm not sure about the throttle body though, i think you can still use the original one.
And, for integraracing 91: here is a website that can tell you everything you need to know.
obd0-obd1 conversion
If you have any questions about the conversion let me know, i just put a b18c1 in, and converted to obd1.

ok so if you can put a b18a1 in a 89 crx si and i know you can put the crx si motor in a 89 acura integra can you put a b18a1 in an 89 acura integra ???

i have a 89 acura intergra FWD circle track race car and i have the stock d16a1 5 speed in it and i can find nothing for it so some one reply back .Thanks

You can go either way. if you want to stay obd1 then you can use the dizzy you have now and the ecu you have now. but you will need a ecu jumper with subharness to make this work. which can be found here.

If you want to remain obd0 you will have to get an obd0 dizzy and obd0 ecu. then you will need to swap over your obd0 d16 injectors to the b18a1 fuel rail. its probably going to cost you more to go this route. depends on what kind of price you can find for the ecu and diz.

You don't need to switch throttle bodies regardless of which obd# you end up goinh with.

Since I'm also doing the same swap, I'll piggyback and ask a question here:

Is the wiring harness from a DX automatic trans car different from a manual one?

I'm having the conversion harness made to go from obd0 dpfi to obd1 mpfi, and need to send both harnesses to the guy. I have a complete dx harness in an auto parts car. If that won't work,I'll have to strip one out of my running car...would rather not.
