Default 97' GSR into 97' LX

I have a 97 lx and I just went to a local shop today to price out a different motor. I know the guy and he comes up with a 97' GSR motor with everything needed for a swap. He priced it out at $3,450.00 and then it would cost about another $275 to ship it up here. So it would be $3,725.00 shipped to where Id have to pick it up. Is this a pretty good price for a B18C1, it has pretty decent hp with 170. I am kind of planning on putting on a turbo after awile. And if this is a pretty good price how much would it cost to have it installed? My friends dad owns a shop so I might be able to have some kind of discount; and my dads friend can do the wiring for me. Then I would have 3" exhaust straight to a muffler/tip in the back. Would the exhuast be too loud? Well any input would be appreciated. thanks

on a stock gsr motor (or even with bolt ons), youll lose power and itll be loud as hell. Im talking a loud enough to set of car alarms.

Does that swap come with lsd and mounts? Youll need new mounts to get it to fit. You can get the mounts, gsr complete swap, and a tranny with lsd from hmotorsonline.com for 3750 plus shipping for about 200-300 bucks. If you arent getting an lsd OR mounts from that place, visit hmotorsonline.com Youll get more for your money.

Yea it comes with everything, and I don't know for sure but I'm guessing it will come with an LSD. The guy also said it comes with mounts and everything else for a swap.(ECU,Mounts,motor/tranny,axles, ect..) Plus the guy gets them straight from Japan and they're supposed to be guaranteed with 50k miles or less. Don't the GSR's come with LSD trannys? Im also pretty sure that the tranny is from the GSR as well.

Why would it lose power?

you might wanna call and double check.

Well you might not lose any, but you probably wont gain any. There will be no backpressure and it will actually require more force to move the air out of such a large dia. exhaust. Hence why a turbo loves 3in piping.

someone correct me if im wrong, and if i am, sorry. :P

Oh you were talking about exhaust, I dunno I just said that because I heard a lot of people talking about using 3" diam. for best output. So maybe something along the lines of a 2.5" diam?

i dont think they all came with them, i dont think the usdm ones came with them at all. I know you CAN get jdm ones with lsd. Call the guy back, ask him if its usdm or jdm, then ask him to check the tranny code (like a block code but on the tranny). Or just ask him straight up "does my transmission come with a lsd?"

He said the swap would be 100% JDM, I guess he gets them straight from Japan. But I will have to ask to make sure. Whats really difference between LSD and a normal? Can they handle more hp or somethig? LSD stands for limited slip doesnt it?

So how would it go in a 1/4 with it swapped? lower 15's about with the b18c1?
I was also thinking of selling my 4-wheeler and my car and finding an RSX-S but I dont think I could come up with enough money without blowing most of my account. Between selling the two, the most I could hope to get is about $8000-$8,5000 Im guessing and the cheapest they go for around here is about $12,000. So it would be a bit cheaper to swap, plus I think it would be more fun to have an underestimated car.
