Hi, this is my first post on here and am looking for some help and advice.

Im putting a B16A2 engine into my 97 civic iSR (NOT SiR!) coupe which currently has a D16y8 engine in. I have engine, gearbox and have been told i need to make some modifications to my wiring harness, can someone tell me what these modifications are? and will i need to replace the ECU?

The car that engine was taken out of does have the ECU + OEM Harness present but to fit the whole harness is a pretty big job (i think?)

Also what will happen if i leave the ECU and wiring harness as it is? Any major problems? Would really appreciate any advice as this is the only thing stopping me from completing the swap!

lot less hassle to just pull the harness and ecu from the other car and put them into the new one.

it's easy pull it out it will take you an hour if that

ok, thanks for the replies thats great stuff, also, the car has a cat 1 alarm which also has remote central locking, will change of ecu affect this?
