Hi,
I know alot of people don't recommend it but i can get a killer deal on a b17 motor, then i'd buy a hydro tranny. So i was wondering that if i got everything from the swap minus tranny what else would i need.

Like would i need b16 or b18 mounts?
OBD2-OBD1 conversion harness?

thanks and it would go into a 98 civic coupe.

what you will need:
Mounts
99-00 driver side motor mount bracket
99-00 Rear "L" bracket
the rest of the mounts and brackets will work
Wireing
use ur civic harness and modify it to fit (if u want it to look stock, take ur stock harness and rip off all the black stuff covering the wires and plug it all up on the b17...this way u dont have to cut and splice wires...now the wires that still dont reach, just cut, solder, and heatshrink...after ur done put all the black covering back on and use electrical tape and take it all back up nicely.)

ECU
if u wanna go obd1 then u would need a jumper harness from obd2a to obd1...if u just wanna keep it obd2 then find a obd2 ecu like a CTR or ITR and use that..

just a note, a us b17 is not really a 1.7 litre it is really just a b16 like those found in jdm da integras.

no way, i never new that. Nice that at least on this forum people don't bash someone who's learning. :D So i could get a Type R crank and oversized itr pistons and have my block honed. Then i'd be set on the bottom end. Sweet.

ummm if you put a type r crank in you would need custom rods and probably have to modify the block and crank. And you have to bore the block not hone it to fit oversized pistons
