Alright i have a 99 honda civic dx and i just purchased a d16y8 head complete with intake manifold, throttle body, vtec sensor etc... and i also purchased a 99 honda civic ex ecu, wiring harness and apexi v-afc, my question to all of you is can i use my 97 dx distributor on my d16y8 head and also i kno the d16y7 nlock does not come with the knock sensor that is required by the ex vtec, how hard would it be to put one in my block and is it really even worth all the trouble?

you can use youre d16y7 distributor on youre y8 head
on youre y7 block there is allready a spot on there located next to youre oil filter for the knock sensor to screw into, so its not hard at all to deal with that. |

There's is a spot on the y7 block but you have to tap it in order for it to screw in.
You can just thread the knock sensor in to any ground on the chassis, this will send the signal to the ecu as if it were in the block and will not throw a cel and vtec will kick in |
