Default d16z6 into a 1998 civic vtec-e

can this be done?? i have a 98 civic with a bad vtec-e engine in it and i also have a good d16z6, will i have wiring issues or dizzy issues??? what about the crank sensor on the 98 engine?? the d19z6 doesnt have one??

It would be easier to put a D16Y8 into it... it's basically the same thing, just newer.

Very possible and not complicated. Use the distributor and injectors off of your motor, change the oil pump from the hx motor onto the z6 along with the crank position sensor. It will run fine, had to do the same with my sir2 into my 97 ex. Obd1 motors don't have the crank position sensor and therefore their oil pumps don't have the bolt holes for the sensor. Swap the pump(or get a new one from a y8) and the sensor and it will run your ecu or a y8 ecu like a champ.
