Ok, we don't have emissions here in NY but, i'm swapping in a JDM b16a2 into my 98 civic and I heard that the JDM engines don't pass emissions???? Does it not pass emissions because the JDM b16a2 is OBD1 or is it the engine that doesn't pass. Becuase if I swapped in a USDM B16a2 then I would pass emissions because it would be off a OBD2 ecu!!!! But when I swap in the the JDM b16a2 I plan on using a Integra Type R (P73) ecu which is OBD2 and it plugs right into my 98 civic engine harness. We don't have emissions so i'm not worried but I plan on find a better job somewhere and if I have to go out of state, then I don't to end up going to a state that has emissions and be fucked!

well as far as california goes, you'll need all the usdm OBD2 smog equipment on the motor.
