I own a 96' del sol SI.
I am in the process of swapping in a 96' gsr motor into it. I was just labeling the wiring harness on the D16Y8. then I noticed that the ECU that is in my sol says p28. Isn't that ECU for OBD1. shouldn't I have a p2p ECU I bought an OBD2 gsr motor to make wiring easier. does this seem right to you guys? and is there anything I need to do extra besides add the IAB wire? please help me I am trying to get the engine in today. |

you may have to lengthen some of the wires to fit around the b18, and you might have to change some of the plugs... some of mine didn't fit even though the wires ended up in the same spots, example, the distributor plug had all the same wires but the plug was completely different.
but other wise, you're good, the d16y8 had the linear iac valve, so it's the same, you already had a knock sensor, so that's ok, and the vtec is already wired and ready to go good luck with the swap, should be so easy, it might be fun |
