My mechanic is putting in a 97 JDM ITR engine into my 95 GS-R.
The swap comes complete with OBD2 and harness I would like to keep the GS-R ecu because it is easier to tune later on. Any suggestions as to what has to be done? thanks |

so you have a obd1 engine with a JDM obd2 type R harness and a obd1 gsr ecu?
unless your car is right hand drive i dont think a jdm harness fits your car. and if you wanna use the gsr stuff i say switch to a gsr harness. __________________

distributor
fuel injectors alternator those will be your only issues either swap the parts for your OBD-1 peices, or swap the plugs from the JDM harness __________________

Use the GSR's engine harness, the GSR's distributor, and the GSR ECU and you're good to go.
What happened with your GSR engine? Did it blow to pieces or something? __________________

![]() use the gsr dizzy, gsr alternator, injectors. I would also run an ITR base map on either a p28 or your p72 ecu __________________
