Default Need opinions on mini me swap

I have a D15B7 95 hatch, and have been given a 97 D16Y8 engine with bad bottom end.
I am thinking about putting the head on my 1.5 engine.
Every thread I read leaves some info out or gives different parts.
Can I do the swap and still have close to stock compression so as to buy regular gas.
Also, which cam gear and belt really works right.
I'm looking for a little more power with the same reliabilty and be able to run regular gas.
Any help would be great.

yeah, use the y8 had on the b7 block. also the y8 intake manifold, and the b7 distributor.
you can convert your p06(d15b7) ecu for vtec with parts from xenocron or phearable.
you will need to run wires for vtec if your harness doesn't have them.
compression will be about 10.5: over the y8's 9.3:1
good idea to replace your water pump while it accessible too.
search b7 y8 mini me for details like what timing belt to use, etc.

Most of this I know from FAQs all over, but I still don't know what head gasket, gear, and belt combo to use so compression will not be too high and timing will be okay.
I picked up a P28 ecu few days ago for 60.00, so I have everything now.
I just worry about too much compression for regular gas.
Call me a miser, but I love the 33 mpg I get to work and back.
It just needs a little more pep.
