I'm thinking about upgrading my camshaft, cam gears, ecu, flywheel, and clutch. Now from my understanding, ACT makes really good kits and so do hondata. I have a B18C motor and tranny.
So far I have... Skunk2 intake manifold hondata gasket skunk2 throttle body DC Sports 4-1 header Greddy Evo exhaust AEM Cold Air Intake AEM Fuel Rail AEM Fuel Reg. Planning to Get.. skunk2 camshafts (not sure which stage) skunk2 cam gears What stages do you all think? Dont really know the break down in stages. Thanks for your help |

If you're not upgrading valve springs stage 1 is as aggressive as you're going to be able to get without running a risk of floating the valves and breaking something. Even with the stage 1 cams, considering the fact that the GSR only has single springs on the exhaust side, you may want to upgrade the valve springs anyway or if not definitely don't raise the redline above stock. With the mods you already have done if you get a set of valve springs/retainers and go for the Skunk stage 2 cams you will make some serious power over the stage 1's.
As far as the clutch/flywheel go I like Exedy products and have always had good luck with them, but I've heard a lot of good things about ACT as well. I just don't feel the need to stray away from something I know works great for me personally.. hopefully some others can help out in that area. Although if you are looking for another quality brand I would urge you to look into their products as well. Their stage 1 clutch has something like 40% increased holding power over a stock clutch while keeping the clutch effort reasonable. Drivability is pretty close to stock once you get used to the higher pedal pressure.. |

No if you get the Skunk2 springs you will be just fine with the stock valves.. and you can change the valve springs with the head still on the block..

So Should I go with turner or pro series camshaft?
Tuner Stage 2: Street/Race cam designed for engine with free-flowing intake and exhaust tracts, increased compression, and upgraded valvetrain. Pro-Series Pro 2: High Lift Street/Race cam designed to optimize mid-range and top end HP and TQ. Peak power is increased and power band is moved 700rpm higher than Pro 1. Pro-Series valvetrain required. |

All depends on what you want. Tuner series retains a stock idle and requires less tuning to run them. Also the tuner series would keep your current fuel mileage. They retain the stock off vtec cam profiles so vtec hits harder. The pro series have different off and on vtec cam profiles so extensive tuning is required to even get the car to idle. The idle is lopy and fuel mileage would take a hit. |

I would stick to the tuner spec Skunk2 cams. The other cams are too aggressive for daily driven vehicles unless you are going to get the car properly tuned and still be willing to give up some drivability. Anything more than the stage 1 tuner cams would recommend you upgrade the valve springs and retainers in order to take advantage of the higher lift profile on those cams. If your not willing to upgrade the springs then just stick to stage 1 cams. I had the stage 2 cams on my car before and the power is felt in the higher rpm ranges which is why I recommend you change springs. My redline was also bumped up to 9k. I wouldn't go that high on OEM springs for too long.
ACT makes great products. I've never had a problem using them. I recommend their StreetLite flywheel and their Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with Performance Street Disk. Good combination for street use. __________________

I wouldn't either that would be a retarded choice for a street driven car.. especially considering you have to have super high compression/redline to get any real benefit from them. Put those on a stock valvetrain and have fun bending valves..
