Default Newbie b16a knock sensor

First I would like to thank everyone on the Hondaswap forum. I recently purchased my first civic, a 94 dx coupe with a b16a (sir 1?) swap. Car had a nice interior and exterior but ran awfully. It was throwing codes for MAP, IAT, O2 sensor, Knock sensor, Vtec solinoid and Vtec oil pressure sender and throttle position sensor. Hard to believe it ran at all.

With help from Hondaswap forum I cleared the last code today. These things pull pretty hard for 1600 cc's.

My question is this, I've read in a few place that the knock sensor didn't work all that well and could just be grounded out. I did that but would get a code 23 after a few minutes running. Installed a used sensor today and so far no codes. Knock sensor is necessary using a P61 ecu?

Anyway, I talk too much. Thanks for the help. Now I think I need a P30 ecu.
