I am going to assume this is an obd1 b or d series swap to obd2 ek civic. Because this is the only time anything would be an issue. If this is what i think it is what you must do is use your obd2 d series alternator and make an adapter bracket so you can bolt it on. All i used was a couple extra nuts and a long bolt. Running a d16y8 alternator on my b16a 1990 motor in my 97 ex with no problems.
