Hey guys !
I own a civic coupe 96 1.6lt (engine d16y8 with 127hp) and i want to do a b16a or b . do I need 2 replace the p.s. pump ?? (in the "HONDA ENGINE SWAPS" of Aaron Bonk says that an integra 98-01 P.S. pump must be instaled) ??
Thanks !

well, in my experience if you do a b swap and want to keep your p/s you have to get a p/s pump for the engine you are swapping in, Also you will need to replace the p/s pressure line that goes from the top of the pump to the p/s rack with the line for that engine.
for example if you do a gsr swap into a 95 civic you have to use a gsr p/s pump and a p/s pressure line from a gsr also.
Reason being that the d series pump does not mount correctly to the B block, Nor does the d series p/s pressure line hook up to the b series pump.
all in all it's only 2 parts that you have to buy, and usually when you buy an engine for a swap, it comes with the pump, so you would only need the pressure line.

nope, with EKs you can use the stock pump if you have the b16 power steering brackets. If you have the ls brackets on your b16 like me then you just take a piece of metal strapping(You know those strips of metal with holes in them) and cut a piece like 6 or 7 inches long and put a bolt through the bracket and another through the pump. Works great and it only took me like an hour.

Oh yeah, i can take a picture of my custom bracket if you need it. Good luck.
