To start off, the project is continuing off at 3 years since being in Japan for the last 2.5 buying parts and working.

I bought a 1992 civic Dx 4Dr for about 250 sitting in a field and now bringing it back to some life.

I have stripped it down, body work and paint all done, new OEM moldings almost all complete.

Questions however started to arise when I swapped my old D15 for a JDM 1992 B16 with hydro tranny from a indentical EG I found in Japan and pulled the parts from.

I am still shipping parts back to the US from that car!!


The main question is VTEC wiring, can I use the USDM harness in the fire wall / ECU to a OBD1 VTEC harness with no problems or do I need addtional wiring?

Next question axles? Can my old DX axle knuckles fit the JDM B16 axles no problem? I have not tried yet?

Third question, Can a B18C timing belt from GREDDY fit a B16 no problem?


Last question, can a B16 AEBS intake manifold work properly without the bracket support underneath that is attached to the block? My new AEBS intake Mani will not fit unless I take it off.

You may need to run the vtec wires.

Yes, they will work.

Never tried, but I doubt it, just use the right one.


Never tried one of these either, but you could make a support bract if teh old one doesn't fit. Does the AEBS have the holes for the bracket?

Cool, I fit the axles and they would work. but I do not know how to remove the immediate shaft from the main axlle shaft to install new drive shaft on driver's side.

Yes the AEBS intake mani does have the holes for the brackets but it does not clear wheb trying to install. about 1/8 off.

Also, does anyone know the bolt size for the intermediate shaft block bracket?

My B16 swap did not come with the bolts.
