Default K swap

Im getting an 01 civic coupe (not sure of the trim level) but its auto, and correct me if Im wrong has the D17 in it. So my question is how hard and what roughly would it cost to swap a K-series into the car? I am getting the car as a gift from a wealthy friend, so if I have to spend some money on the swap it wont really matter much since the car was free. The only thing Im worried about is the auto to manual conversion.

Auto to manual swap + K20 swap + all the hardware you will need to make it fit and function properly + cable to hydraulic + labor = well over 10k.

Unless you think it would insult the guy, I'd just sell it and get something else. If it's an 01 and in decent shape, you could probably get 6-8k for it.

i was thinking the same.

just drive the car. when you have more cash to pay for another car, trade it and get something you really want. don't worry about more power. just get some nice wheels and a stereo and enjoy a clean, reliable car.

The EF is my AutoX car. I know what your saying, She let me drive it a few times its nice to drive and not be deaf by the end of the trip, and bounce around off of the roof. I like it way to much to get rid of it. The hatch that is.

So put the 01 civic up for sale. Drive it until it gets sold and then put that money into the EF. You can do a lot with $8,000. You can even put a K-series in the EF.

keep the car. sell the stupid ef. it's almost 20 years old. you dont' have any money to autox or repair it if it breaks. gave a clean dd, get to work/school/whatever and enjoy it. race when you have money.

Does anyone make mounts for a B-series into the 01-05 chassis? I don't think that they do. For all the money he'd spend to make it work, I don't think it would be worth it.

How bout this? Keep the 01 as your daily driver. If you are autocrossing the ef then keep that car and slowly work on it. having a clean unmodified reliable daily driver is a big help. When I need to have my car sitting for a couple days to work on it its no big deal cause I have another car to drive. But if it comes down to it I would say put a big price tag on it and drive it til someone offers close to that.
