Default k24a2 in rsx

whats up everybody...i didnt want to ask for help since im new but this is the first time i ever switched a motor and i really need some input.
i have a 2002 rsx s and i blew the k20 so i purchased a k24a2 block and head(no im or em) i bought the rbc mani and karcepts adaptor and bolted it right on. saturday i installed the motor and it was real straight foward. i used the stock em(cat and all) from my dc5 and it bolted right up. i have k-pro and flashed my ecu with the stock tsx k24 map and it started right up. my cel was on though, so i checked error codes and i got one for idle air control circuit malfunction and heated o2 sensor 1. but it gets worse...something smelled funny and the header was way too hot after only 90 seconds tops of the engine running so i shut it down and look underneath the car and the cat is bright red, like glowing! ive turned on the car twice since then and each time within 30 seconds of the car running the em and cat get extremely hot! i dont know what to do!! i think my o2 sensor is busted b/c af always reads 10.70:1 only afcmd reads, at idle(like 1800 rpm though i guess b/c of the iac) it was 13.61:1...
did i install the manifold wrong? maybe no coolant is going through the head?
is k-pro's map too rich and im getting fuel in the cat?
i did hit the gas and rpms shot up to 5 so the exhaust isnt clogged.
any help is greatly appreciated...

Why would he go through the trouble of putting the Type-S head on? The K24 came from a TSX, not an Accord/CRV/Element. The K24 that's in the TSX has a head comparable to RSX Type-S/Civic Si head and it's already pushing out 200 horses.

That's why they call it a "poor man's TSX" when you take the Accord/CRV/Element block and put the Type-S head on it, because you're essentially building a TSX motor; same concept as an LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC.

i straightened it all out a while ago...i just dont have much comp access nowadays.
it was my injector duty cycle way to high, (some1 noticed it on k pro when it was live idling) so i went over the motor and noticed the fuel rail wasnt fitting that tight, i tightened the hell out of it, replaced the gaskets inbetween the im and the tb and tb and adaptor plate and fixed a ground on the iac and the car was in order...it still showed a code for o2 so i ran throught the flow chart w/ a multimeter and sure enough it was bustedso i replaced it and had the car street tuned and its running well...i dont like the swap though! dont get me wrong it runs mint and feels powerfull but the gearing of my types tranny makes it diffucult to get ANY traction in 1st!!!!!! i got fresh azenis on the stock rims and they spin at like half throttle!!!! its fukin wakkkkk, i think its all in the gearing, the tranny is geared for 141 ft lbs and stock tsx motor has 168 ft lbs and the cars tuned so its prolly even higher now. its cool for powerng effortlessly in 3rd gear through turns or passing people on the highway w/o downshifting but w/o lsd and drag radials i wouldnt recommened it.

and as for the k20 head in comparassion to the k24 head of course the k20 head is better!!! it has larger intake and exhuast ports and has more aggresive cams! the frankenstien has been done and people yeild high gains from it. i would like to do it in the future for higher revs...i rev to 7600 now and would like to add the head and shift at 8000...ive read that the piston speeds of the k24 are even greater than the f20c b/c of the long stroke and people believe it cant be revved to 8000 stock bottom end but people have debated this topic on other forums and claim to be daily driving k24/k20 w/ 8000 redline..i believe it too i figure its all in how well balanced the motor is and i got bigtime faith in hondas!!!! thanx for the help guys!
