Default B18B1 for a B18A1?

I am getting another Integra (a 93 LS( tomorrow and I was wanting to swap out the motors. The A1 has 76k miles on it, while the B18B1 has about 160k miles on it.

If my compression is good on both motors, would this swap be pointfull or not? What if I just swapped the heads (the B18B1 has a stripped spark plug in it)?

1. pointful is not a word...
2. why swap a motor that is in good condition for one that has more miles? its the same engine, basically.
3. the heads are the same, so its pointless to swap heads.

Leave the B18A1 w/76K on it in the car.

Sounds like he wants to ditch the B18B1 and put in the A1. A 93 Integra should have the B1 because it will be OBD1, plus he said that the B1 head has a stripped plug hole, so I assume that's in the Integra right now.

If you want to just swap the head, use all your old sensors and manifolds. That will give you the unstripped spark plug hole and still keep your electronics the same. You could do the same with the entire longblocks if you just want to swap- use all your existing electronics and manifolds and it should almost be a straight bolt in.

as far as I know all 92-93 integra's have b18a1's in them. 94+ have b18b1's.

Hmm. Dunno. It just sounds like he has a bad B1 in there and wants to drop in the A1.

Because they search for something, start reading a thread, form an opinion, and then hit the reply button, all the while not realizing that the shit they're reading is dated 5 years ago. Although, I still don't quite understand why it happens so much, because once a thread goes a certain amount of time without being posted in, a little note appears at the bottom saying "this thread is X months old, please consider starting a new topic instead."

Yes, I realize I just brought it back for a third time. Sorry, heh heh...

I just felt like his question actually did merit an answer.

Really?!?!

And just to clarify, the A1 and B1 are almost identical. The A1 came with a cable tranny while the B1 has hydro. The only real difference with the motors are the cams in the B1. Slightly more aggressive. No real better gas mileage there. And less work? All the OBD1 and 2 parts are interchangeable between the two motors. Match the equipment with the chassis and run the A1 or the B1, same amount of work. Now for the love of God let this thread die.

Christ dude, did you not read any of the above posts where everyone was getting pissed because people kept bringing this thread back to life years after the fact? Check the dates on stuff before you post, idiot...

Is this like a noob right of passage? Their first post must resurrect a long-dead thread to the annoyance of everyone?

Yes, that's a noob first post requirement as well. Not only does their the post need to resurrect a dead thread, it also must contain inaccurate, questionable, or simply irrelevant information...

I know this is someone else's thread, but I have a question.
I live in the South East Tx area and it seems alot of the yards around here have a shortage of Integra parts... especially a 1995. I would go to Houston, but my car is disabled right now *due to the fact that the motor mount isn't holding anything up now and so the engine sagged enough to break my altenator belt* and rides are hard to come by. The Acura's official website is useless and it's hard to get in touch with the dealer which is right next door in Beaumont Tx. I just wanted to know if anybody could point me to a site where I could find out the sizes for the bolts that go into the B18B1's top driverside motor mount/support?
Thanks

Right...did you not happen to see all those posts where people brought this thread back to life and then the corresponding posts saying "don't do that you moron!"??? Is it that hard to just start a new thread?

Anyway, since you're here, I'll indulge you. Go to Delray Acura - Online Acura Parts Store or Delray Acura Dealer 561-265-0000 | Boca & West Palm Beach, Boynton Ft Lauderdale area for new used car dealerships in Florida among Palm Beach Acura dealers in Boca Raton, Pompano Bch - Fort Lauderdale, Margate, Oakland Park, Parkland, Deerfield and . Look up that parts you need through their sites. They have exploded diagrams of everything listing part numbers and sizes...
