Keeping your car tuned up is the easiest thing you can do. Change your oil every 3k, make sure you have a clean air and fuel filter, replace the plugs if they are fouled up. Make sure the valves are adjusted to spec. Keep your tires inflated properly and the wheels aligned.

Idk prolly 500 bucks for everything. Really though, your integra gets 30+ mpg as it is. If you want insane mileage trade it for a stock crx hx.

Carpooling is by far the best way to save gas $. That or ride a bicycle to work.

Take the number 1 and 3 pistons out. Then disconnect the injectors, block off the plenums on the intake, block off the exhaust ports, and finally remove the spark plugs. You should get 2/3 better fuel economy with this mod.

I'm sure it could be done.

I seem to recall an old army field manual with directions for running an old jeep engine off two cylinders, and using the other two for compressing air for tools. I'll try to find that.

Default best MPG for my crx

I just bought a basket case 86 CRX which I'm starting an engine search for. I'm after max MPG. The original engine was an EW1 with a 5 speed. I've seen the HF models used a B13 but I've not located one of those here locally in Tulsa. My car was originally carburated but I've got a megasquirt and am thinking about going injected. Any engine suggestions for most MPG, easiest availablility, least conversion pain/expense?

My first suggestion would be to start your own thread in the appropriate forum...

lower you coefficient of drag : lower your car, put on lightweight wheels with covers, take off your spoiler if you have one, put on some underbody diffusers/panels, tape up the seams in the front of your car around your headlights and hood, remove your antenna, remove one windshield wiper, remove passenger side mirror, place covers over your rear wheel-wells that follow the lines of the body, put some of those mini-vortex generators (like the evo has) on your rear deck, etc.

remove all the interior except the drivers seat/steering wheel/shifter. put on narrower tires with harder rubber compound and a shorter sidewall. remove the power steering pump and air conditioner. free up the intake and exhaust and keep your foot out of the throttle.

My CRX has a B16 runs 15s or faster and still gets 32 mpg. With an ls tranny it is a little slower but you can exspect 35 ish mpg.
