The only issue I have with it is it's an auto. No worries though, I'm going to the junk yard tomorrow to find a 5spd transmission and then buy a rebuild kit for it, maybe a LSD and some diff. gears while I'm in there. |

Super clean car bro. Good luck on the Tranny swap. Ten times easier if u pull the whole motor out when u do the swap. easier to install slave cylinder lines that way. While egines out would be a great time to change rear main and crank seals. Usually will start to leak around that 125k mile range. should last u another 160kplus, long live dc's !

Well, I'm gonna head out to the junk yard in a little bit. I'm gonna try to find another block to build so I can daily this one until the new engine gets built and boosted. As far as the tranny, I was thinking of doing cable instead of hydro. Any thoughts as to pros and cons? I could always just swap out gears in it if need be.

Well the junk yard was a bust, I found 2 complete B18A1's one without a tranny and one with an auto, but it's not quite what I was looking for. Couldn't find any of the other parts for the swap either. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait it out.

| So, picked up a cable trans yesterday for $150 it came with the mount too. It feels like it's shifting right by hand and the input shaft turns the diff. The guy I got it from was an idiot, he was like "I got this transmission out of an Integra, but I don't know which one. I'll sell it for $150." He said it was hooked up to a B16 but that's all he knew. I'm gonna tear it apart probably on Thursday to count the teeth to find out which one it is and make sure everything inside is alright.

Well, ended up tearing it apart and counting teeth. It's a B18A1 transmission. The internals look good, nothing ground down. I might not even have to replace the syncro's although i probably will anyways.

I'm just gonna order the oil seals and one of the friction dampers. The syncros barely look used. So for $150 and another $40 in shipped parts, it's not a bad deal.

Well, I took apart one of those little usb car chargers that goes into the cigarette lighter and soldered the usb wires from that plug straight to the chip in the charger. Then I soldered a power wire and ground wire to the part of the chip that is for the lighter and ran the two to the radio power source.

So, I'm looking at my chart for B series transmission gear ratios and I'm thinking that if I swap out the 5th and final drive gears from my B18A1 trans with the ones from a B18B1 trans, I can get the Fastest top speed of all the B series transmissions. The gear ratios and approximate top speed at 6800 rpm with 205/50/15 tires would be as follows: 1st 3.166 35mph 2nd 1.857 59mph 3rd 1.259 87mph 4th 0.935 117 mph 5th 0.714 153mph Rev 3 36mph Final 4.266

Lol...Yea, I know. I'm not so much worried about 5th gear because I know that's a stretch. The final drive will affect all of the gears and still give me the higher top speeds in each gear from 1st through 4th, which I know I would get to. So... maybe just the final drive then?
