im going to go out on a limb here and make a guess at whats going on in the picture

the car is obviously a convertible
from the frame work on the trunk im going to have to say its got a power retractable top
the trunk im guessing is supposed to hinge backwards like all of the other ones do
but it seems that on this one the hinge was either broken or removed causing the trunk to stick way the fuck out in the air like that
im going to guess broken
the car is at a dealerships service bay
it seems that someone simply snapped a picture either because they needed it for documentation or because they thought it looked funny and would make a good internet post

thats my take on this one

I still think it's an emergency air brake.

Wil said that the convertible top wouldn't go up or down, so when they fixed that the trunk popped open like that. Something about the cable being stuck.
