Default Bob Barker has commanded me!

All those years of watching the Price is Right, and I'm finally doing my part. My two kittens are going under the knife next week on the same day MW2 comes out. Maybe they'll settle the hell down with no nuts.

Only partially because it's just getting annoying when Eddie keeps trying to mount Sammy at 2 am, then they start fighting, growling and hissing at each other. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't care.

A buddy of mine has a saltwater fish tank. He has around 10k in the tank equipment alone and another 7 or 8 in fish. Its amazing.

cats suck. I have 2

wiggles and Charlie just hate each other. My (Casey) german shepard hates Charlie and its just an ongoing fight.

the cats are the most distructive. They have scratched my carpet up trying to get into the a/c vents. The even have messed up the door entry ways using them as their scratch post.

cats suck. and yes both of my cats are fixed.

Dogs suck balls. They bark at everything, they inhale their food, they don't appreciate or care about you unless you have food and they go crazy everytime someone walks up to the door.

Oh, and they're flat out annoying.

Cats > Dogs

After living with a dog for 4 months, I never will again.

Lucy aka Lucifer the shepard/beagle mix

My new leather chair one day after work

Crating her didnt help. Sucked a $200 comforter through the cage

She had no trouble escaping the cage even when the door was zip tied all around

I think her destructiveness has something to do with her not being trained properly... you can't just expect a dog to behave. Dogs are like kids, if you don't teach them to behave they won't.

My roommate got her from a shelter. He had her with a private trainer for 2 hours a week and he couldn't break her. Eventually he got rid of her - found a nice family with 5 kids and a farm. Lucy had separation anxiety really bad. She was an awesome dog when you were around, but when left alone, she would stop at nothing to find a person.

My family's cat is an asshole. Bo Jangles cries for food hours before he knows it's time. Will bite anyone around for the attention. Swats at you if you walk past. You'll be petting him one second, and the next he is attacking you. Real douchebag. Barely fucks with me anymore though. I never feed him. I ignore him. And the last time he hit me, I rocked him in the head. Guess he learned to leave me alone.

My friend Kim has a Yorkie. Riley is the shit. Playful, but if you don't want to play he gets the picture. Also drives my cat crazy which is always a plus. He was just over here. Haven't seen the cat for hours.

My family had a Golden Retriever. Stereotypical best dog ever. Never barked. Playful. Well behaved. I miss Sparky. He was the shit.

i grew up with cats. my parents used to raise persian cats. i never had a dog until about 6 months ago. dogs are great but they are alot more responsibility. cats are good pets too but they arent social animals that need human interaction. you guys are comparing apples to oranges.

and yes i agree, no matter what, have your pets spayed or neutered. bob barker is right.

I know, right. I'm house sitting for my boss. I've NEVER been in his house until the first day I fed his dogs and they were just showing me where the food was not even questioning that I was in the house. They are GIANT dogs too. Couldn't tell you what breed except big....one is bigger than me.

Someone brakes into my house, that means I get a fatty insurance check and I can redo that section of the house.

If someone BREAKS into my house while I'm home they'll get either a 12 ga or a 45 pistol in their face until the police show up.

No one is going to break into my house, but if they do I don't expect cats to do anything about it.

that dog tore up your house because it's a fucking SHEPHERD breed. dumbass should have known that before taking it from a shelter. it was bred to be on that 5 acre farm.

and cats just need to be fucked up a couple times before they realize they dont' own the house. just like every other pussy, thinking they own the joint.

btw. there's a jack russel in my house as well. I really don't see her scaring off burglars at all. If you want a guard dog you're gonna have to get a horse of a dog and train it to attack. Otherwise they'll just show anyone to where the food is kept.

I'm not pulling my disdain for dogs out of nowhere. I can't stand her 80% of the time.

(Most) Dogs aren't stupid... Someone entering the house with the alpha owner and someone sneaking into the house in the middle of the night are two different things. They know the difference. And as a dog owner for the last 21 years, I'd say a well balanced dog can tell the difference between your intentions as well. If you come in by yourself with the intent to help their owner, watch the house, feed the dog, etc, they know the difference between that and coming in to steal the TV.

there was a show on discovery a few years ago called "It Takes a Thief"...
the host would go and talk to the home owners and explain what they wanted to do for the show, and then have them close up the house as they normally would, and leave (they would be viewing with the host from a remote location)... the second host, an ex professional thief, who had not previously been to the house other than to identify it from the street, would then come and break into the house and "steal" anything of value the way he would have in his past

several of the home owners had dogs that they thought would keep them safe, every one of them did NOTHING and did not deter or in any way hinder the burglar from robbing the house... all it generally took was telling them to shut up, or providing them with some treats, or tossing a treat or toy into another room and closing the door

pets are not guard dogs (without a lot of proper training)
and guard dogs hardly ever make good pets

dogs do often make great early warning systems... but i would not count on a house pet to protect me or my home from anyone who is even the slightest bit determined

hell even mythbusters proved that a simple steak will get you past a trained guard dog

For those of you with cats. Get a laser pointer. I cannot explain the amount of laughing you will do in one night. They'll continually chase it.

Wednesday night, the cats were up ALL NIGHT. Being annoying, playing, growling, meowing, running, etc. Thursday I bought a laser pointer for 5 bucks and kept them awake all evening chasing it up walls and spinning them in circles. Words cannot describe how peaceful it was last night with both of them worn out and asleep allll night.

I enjoy cats, always have and always will. I even like it when they're clawing at my feet under the covers at 7 am. They're like extra alarm clocks as they tear the web between my toes to wake me up. Its funny, except on the weekends when I want to sleep. lol
