I"m kinda diggin the commercial.. there's some very nice rides in there.. some rice yeah but still great marketing.

Those cars look nice, but i can tell most are for show, not go. good way to make a little extra cash racing one of them. take your rusted, stock wheel and dented civic hb and challenge one of them. they cant refuse because there car is nicer than yours. then just embarrasse them in front of everyone-- they be like "aw man u got beat by a hoopdy" 5k bet, easy money.

its definitely ricer friendly. in fact, the APC ford focus showcar is in there.

i'd like to know how some of you can tell that a car is slow just cause its riced out? i go to car shows and have seen some ghey looking cars with very fast mods (turbos, superchargers).

here's a little proof:

I talked to a guy who's friends were in it,if you can see past the consuming neon,there are a couple of clean RHD's.But difinitely 98% rizice.

The only thing i like about the comercial is that they dont just have 63 2002 riced out civics. At least they decided to use past gen. civics.

Plus the first riced car you see is a sol with a huge wing. That is just a waste of a good sol

altezzas
big ass wings
altezzas
neon underglow
altezzas
big huge body kits
altezzas
LED muffler tips
did I mention Altezzas?
ALL SHOW NO GO!

I know there are a lot more out there but it varies from person to person. As far as JDM goes I don't really have a problem with that. But like I said it varies from person to person

basicly rice came from the insult domestics gave to japanesse car owners like rice burners, rice rockets ect. Those who are not into the whole Fags N curious thing say rice is stuff that is not funtional like neons, bodykits, spoilers, anything that hurts performance (big ass wheels), altezzas so on and so forth. Things that are JDM according to us is by far NOT rice (unless it is JDM style altezzas stuff like that) However not all body kits and spoilers are RICE. Things like Mugen (they make spoilers and bodykits and tons of performance stuff) because from a good brand these things are real areodynamic helpers.

I have to say I like the commercial just because of what Honda is trying to do. Its smart marketing. Some of the cars are gross, but they arent trying to appeal to hardcore enthusiasts. Riceboy or not, if they sell a car they're happy and thats pretty damn smart. More money for them, better products for us, I cant get mad at that.

Not really - a Honda Civic commercial doesn't go after "rich people" - wrong demographic. They cover that territory with their Acura line. Besides, it's actually cheaper to rice out a car like a lot of the ones in the commercial than it is to build it right. The neon-loving, dub sporting civic driver they're after is more likely to pay $450 for a knockoff kit on eBay than order the real Buddy Club stuff for $2500 or grab a set of cheap chrome/polished 19" wheels for less money than a good set of Volks.
