ok, my D15 has 408k miles on it and it usually goes through 1 quart of oil every 500 miles (no smoke though) and i have used every kind of engine oil stop leak/smoke stopper/engine sealer i could find to see if they help. none did except this one!

i added the CD-2 Engine Oil Stop Leak/Heavy Duty Sealer to my oil 500+ miles ago and ive yet to burn any oil!!! my dipstick is still slightly above full! this NEVER happened with any of the other ones i tried. my engine runs great too. i give it 2 big now i actually need to drain some of the oil because its a little overfull. it used to just "adjust itself".

soooo...ahhh...

If the engine has that many miles...wouldn't you be kinda planning a swap soon.....

I mean this is HondaSwap.com.....not HondaLiveAsLongAsPossible.com

J/k...

But don't get dependant on additives for too long...I have seen many engines go to crap with half of the stuff on the market.....some even cause problems.

haha true it is hondaswap. but i already had 360k when i found this site and ive considered swapping it before but it just runs too damn good to get rid of it.

as far as additives, i think ive already tried them all. but if one ever does mess up my engine, i'll just get a swap

yea, if its running good already, just use slick 50 about every 20-30k miles and it should last just as long as mine . some say its not uncommon for honda engines to last that long even without slick 50 but it doesnt hurt to use it.

That is true. I put that in the d15b2 in my civic. It seemed to run good for a little while, then the engine went to shit.

no its ZMAX thats getting sued because they found out its colored mineral oil. airjockie said mineral oil is used to break in engines anyway. slick50 is the shit.

Yup...it was ZMAX that was the fruad....

Mineral oil is only good for some engines, while it is good for break-ins on other engines.

Some of the engine additives (restore is one of them) main substance is actually teflon. It really does do just about everything that they promise, however, oil pressure is raised because the teflon clogs the small oil passages in the block

i just bought some shit called No-Smoke. it's labels is yellow and green, not sure if anyone has seen this, i plan on using it in the 350 in my pickup, but the heads are new and i dont wanna fuck em up. i was gonna buy the CD-2 but the person at the store said that they have used both and this one did work to stop the motor from smoking
anyone ever used it before?

Hmmm... 300K with 3 trannies, a few starter, a few alternators... and a mysterious fire at the end... versus my car. My Si at 271K miles is still on her original tranny, just got a new starter this summer, and still on the original alternator. I think that I'll stay with Hondas and Acuras, thanks for the info though. lol.

FYI, with 408,000 miles:

- i am only on my 2nd clutch!
- rebuilt alternators SUCK so im on my 3rd one! lol
- my original starter died at around 300k. im on my second one.
- my distributor suffered a noisy death at..... (drum roll)......

390k!!!!! and i think this is because i didnt tighten the bolts enough after adjusting the timing. they were loose when i heard noises coming from the dizzy.

To be honest, i babied my rex for its whole life until i started learning about honda performance a year or so ago. now it gets beat on every single day....but it still runs great! (KNOCK ON WOOD!)

That was autocross #2 for me at Waterbury, I think. Another great reason for having a stickshift car... just pop the clutch to start it! Just had to remember to park on a hill nose down.

I thought the Sunday my hoodlatch failed was much more interesting... but I blame that incident on my mechanics... still. lol.
