Civic Headlight Sealant

This is a discussion on Civic Headlight Sealant in the Members' Lounge forum
Hey. Does anyone know what I can use to dissolve the sealant/adhesive between the glass and the plastic moulding on 92-95 civic headlights. I wanna pull my lights apart so i can make some ricer headlights. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33710 Thanks...

heat, throw them in the oven at like 125-150 for 10-15 minutes

yea, exactly what baker said, you need heat to take it out. you can do what baker did and put it in the oven. what i did is take a blowdryer and just sat there as the adhesive was loosening up. it takes from 5-10 min to do.

so i can paint them black so i can get the type-r look w/out paying the type-r prices!
