eBay Motors: 99-04 AUDI A3 A4 1.8T T3/T4 TURBO KIT 20V VW GOLF JETTA (item 260339109059 end time Jan-05-09 11:21:05 PST)

the only thing worth a damn in that whole kit is the t-bolt clamps. but, those are $3 a pop, certainly not $800 worth of stuff there.

don't waste your money

Yea figured this, emailed some people who bought a kit form this guy will see the feed back they give me

Doubt the turbo has bearings. Its missing the biggest part of any turbobkit... I guess it works with the stock ecu

I assumed it was the universal kit. Just saw for the jetty. Either way I've seen that same picture listed for a 350z

2 of my friends had ebay brands, one had a ebay manifold and my other has the complete kit. Both manifolds are garbage, but besides that the turbo has held up, i was surprised, but ive heard horror stories too, its hit or miss with these kits, prob be better to do it right.

I've heard for certain kit's you can brace the manifold, and run an oil restricter to save the turbo seals, but in the end, you're better off piecing together your own kit or buying a reputable brand. And as Jeffie pointed out, there's no engine management.

Just an FYI, i did get two emails from people who bought the kit. The both stated that the turbo is ballbearing and the parts were of good quality

Email as follows

Dear erude78, to my suprise i wasnt sure when i bought it if i made a good decsion when i payed for it but no bs its a clean turbo kit i have had several of my friends check the kit out and they dont belive what i payed for it bc the quality of it is not cheap a few of my friends have greddy turbos and mine is better is what they tell me performance wise they relized all they did when they were spending over a grand that they only payed for the name bc i have the same parts quality as they do except my turbo is bigger and ballbaring which makes it better and there mad that i payed half the price that they did by not getting a downpipe with the kit which saved me about 300 i had my downpipe custom made. so over all what im saying is that it is very well worth it so if ur looking to buy a good kit deff buy it from the person/ company that i did. good luck - em_churr2008

i've seen some of these locally
people have had some good luck with them
brace the manifold, and watch the oil inlet pressure

but if you're looking for DD reliability, and long term endurance?
you should probably go with a better name

i don't understand why you need a turbo kit for a car that's already turbocharged?

throw a $40 MBC on it and have fun.

I'm going to get the GIAC tune for it next Wednesday. Should pick up 40hp and 60lbs of tq...

Then why would you even think that an $800 turbo kit is going to be better than the factory turbo system?

Shit, jsut put a better intercooler on it. Then tune it. Then put a boost controler on. Then tune it.

Already turbo'd cars are easy to eeek more power out of. heh.

Seriously, why would you even think about putting an ebay kit on a car that already has a factory AUDI turbo system on it?

Like pickles said, slap an intercooler, boost controller, maybe even a better fuel system on there, and then tune it and call it a day. Much more reliable and will most likely yield you more power.

Pickles? WTF? There is no L.

AWP-TICK-ES when pronounced, should sound remarkably like 'optix' or 'optics' as in "Fiber Optics".
