on saturday i bought a JDM B18CR for my 00 DB8 GSR. i received it today fast shipping from New Jersey, i unwrapped it checked sensors, head, intake, valve cover, hoses, block and of course Transmission. well, the trans attached to the engine is non-LSD. called them up and told them asked me to take pics. took a ton of pics and emailed them this afternoon/evening has any body had any problems with this company? did they just assuming that all JDM B18CR have lsd reason why they did not checked? the engine is a B18C-R.

they are called JDM Engine Depot in KEARNY, NJ.

i'll find out tomorrow morning what are they going to do about this..

pretty sure all of the Rs had the LSD
trans may have been switched in JDM land before they got it and they didnt check

if they make it right with relatively no pain id chalk it up to an honest mistake/oversight

and regardless in the future stick with reputable importers / resellers... they might not be the cheapest... but there is a reason they are worth paying a little extra to work with

i am quite it was a honest mistake, possibly. but can it be that they just assumed all b18cr come with lsd trans and no reason to check?

any importer i have ever been to has been all over popping the axles to check for the pin through the center
could be they sent you the wrong person's order, or some other mix up, probably caused by minimum wage warehouse staff, but i know they always check to see if the trans have lsd

i have had quite a few friends go to jdm engine depot and have never heard anything bad about them, but all these guys go there personally to pick their stuff out and check out their operation

at least you didnt order from osaka, i had to take a trip to canada to get that shit sorted out
what fun

osakajdmmotors.com - very poor reputation
unfortunately i didn't research my supplier before ordering so when they sent me an H22 that was so full of sludge it looked like someone melted black candles all over the valve train, i had to make the trip back to canada to tell them to fuck their start up warranty, i want a motor with less than 60k on it.

I've only heard good things about JDM Engine Depot. I have a friend who will only buy from them. I'd say it was an honest mistake unless there has been an ownership change or something.

today i talked to Alex and Will, they had me to take pictures of the trans. i took a ton of pics and sent them. they asked to take the trans off the engine and send it back, at first i was ask to pay half to either return or sent back a unit. i told them it was a mistake on their part why should i pay for something i did not do. after a few mins of talking to will he said he was going to have a freight company pick-it up, and to get the trans ready on pallet with the bill of lading on it. two hours later they showed up and took it. according to will i should have my trans with lsd on friday.

so far they have been ok trying to fix the problem.

forgot to say, they told me that they never had that problem before.

i'll keep you guys posted, when i took the trans off it had a exedy clutch with a 6 puck disc, and aftermarket flywheel with 2's stamped all over it. the casing of the trans was cleaner then the engine. so who ever owned the car had work done to it. but why have a GSR non-lsd in a type-r?

i dunno.. i had a non-lsd GSR on my b16 in the hatch.. 2 wheel burnouts all day long.. no peg legs here.. now w/ the b16 tranny, peg legs all day

i think its safe to assume that the motor/trans were beat to shit, to the point that the owner popped the lsd trans, and it was cheaper to just throw a gsr trans on it.
common logic/sense kind of dictates this situation.

or maybe you sounded like a dullard with a paper asshole on the phone when you ordered it and they figured you wouldn't know the difference anyway

I grew up in Kearny NJ and i know some of the kids that work there. So i can honestly say they are idiots. I asked if they can get me a JDM4g63t 6 bolt motor and the the guy told me its imposible to get them, i said cool and i gave him my info and told him to call me wen ever he finds one. I went home and checked there website and they had advertized that they have one in stock that same day. its about 4 months later and i am still waiting for that call. They will most likely take care of you, because they are one of the top honda engine importes around here. Good luck and let me know if you need anything i live 10 min away from there depo.

why would you want a jdm 4g63t 6 bolt when there are plenty of them stateside?

if you wanted an EVO motor... thats a different story.
