lol this guy I used to work with at Pizza Hut is bying a 97 GSR which he keeps refurring to as a "Acura Integra VTEC". He keeps going on about how fast it is "OMG it's DOCH and VTEC, you think it's a type R?"

I haven't seen ricer on this level for many years, it's almost vintage...

oh the memories. i would buy all the stock stuff he wants to sell. buy the stock tails when he gets altezzas, buy the wheels for dirt when he gets chrome, buy it all. then sell it back to him when he realizes he was a tool. hahahaha

If Chip Rutan drives a Type-R, that goes to say a lot about them.

That said, I was told that even when you see a sunroof / options deleted Type-R look alike, the gas tank straps always tell the tale.

so when I have some kid that is making the claim, I go along with it. Make him look as tall as possible in front of as many people as possible, then I point out the tank and watch him cringe.

never really was into tegs, but i've seen a few R look alikes here in my area, so whats up with the gas tank straps?

Type Rs have "different" gas tank straps. I would have to remember that they are simply larger, or there are 3 of them.

back in 1992 is when "imports" as we know it started coming around in their own right in terms of guys fixing them up.
