I got the bill today for the yardwork done last sat...and uhm...ouch.

I might as well bend over a little more, maybe they can massage my spine when they stick it in....

Anyways, I was quoted a decent estimate for about $1000, and when the bill came......it was $4705, and with my $600 deposit...the grand total is $4105.....:(

Me -> :boff: <- the bill

Did you know there are a few cars that I'm selling in the for sale section of this forum?.... ;) :hide:

they have to be within a certain percentage of an estimate. they can't legally rape you like that.

but anyways, good job with the smilies, that was cute.

did they give you a quote on paper...where you can have proof of the quote...if so i would be raising hell...if not...i guess i would just have to take it up the ass

Ditto dont get nailed that way... I saw this shit on tv before, they raised hell about it, and the company had to agree to a lower final price...

lol...
"hes not payin the bill...get the bobcat ready...we have a yard to tear up"

Contact BBB, Richard Blumenthal and get a lawyer.

Yes, there are limits to exceeding a quote before a whole new quote can be drawn up. When I had the head gasket done on the Supra, it took him 18 hours vs the quoted 4 hours - the shop took a bath and I offered to pay a little more - He said that there are a ton of CT laws that prevented him from charging, and me from paying.

Talk to a lawyer, now.

wow man
thats just fucking ridiculous...

Well, I think I have a foot to stand on. There was no written numbers for the proposal or estimate, but...on their own papperwork, the first mention of any moneies exchanging states:

Terms of Payment: One half down, balance upon completion.....

And stapled to the paper is my receipt for the deposit...with the note added.... "deposit on yardwork" for the amount of $600....

If I wanted a $4700 job done to the the yard, then I should have had the amount of at least $2350...and that should have been paid in full before they even touch a blade or wheel on my land.

Not 7.841%...what company in their right mind would do any work that has less than 8% for a written deposit and thier paperwork says they need half down before any work is done???...

I just went to the shop, and talked to the secretary, the owner is on the road, but should call me when he gets back to the office.
