hi, new guy to this forum, just bought my 98civic april2006, got it for the gas mileage, but now i want to make it faster, the engine is a B16Y7 with a 5 speed transmission, my question is this a good engine to add a turbo to?? or should i swap the engine and transmission?

Welcome, I'm new here too, but what I can tell you is..
A full turbo kit will run you around $3,000 and you want to go with a well trusted brand name too. also, to my knowledge you can get around 50-75 HP running 100% stock at about...8 PSI. (that's pushing it for stock) now..the d16y7 comes off a DX, so you're pumpin about 103 HP stock out of that thing. so..simple math 103 + 65 = 168. (Note: I used 65 cause it's sorta in the middle) Peace - NightCat |
