The speakers were $799 from sounddistributors.com and the reciever was $399 from ecost. Its all being setup in the living room

Saweet. I generally don't buy into the Bose hype - there are usually better systems out there with greater value per dollar. I have a friend who has an 8 year old Macintosh Audio setup going through a 5 year old Onkyo reciever and it sounds way better than a higher-priced modern Bose 3 speaker setup.

Not trying to open an old tread but why does Bose suck? I don't have much experience with stero systems but I always heard it was good stuff.

Bose don't suck....they are good speaks but for the price there are better speaker systems out there....you can't deny the sound quality that comes out those little speakers.....

When I bought my speakers from Soundistrubutors.com I called and the guy told me if i didn't like these better then the Bose system then he would pay to have them shipped back so i had nothing to loose, i already knew what bose sounded like and obviously the story ends with me keeping these speakers

For me personally I like Floor Standing Speakers with big center channles and surrond sound...

But if you want a serious sounding system you can always go woth Wisdom Audio's "Infinite Wisdom Grande" system for $700,000 which the entire system weighst more tehn my car at 3800lbs

I like Bose i have Bose Companion III computer speakers and the things are as loud as anything and the subwoofer is insanley bassy

i would much rather build my own from high end car audio high and mids. I have one of my audio friends who did that and ilooks and sound good.

i like my cheapo samsung that i bought from best buy.

ahhh! thats the same one i have!

it sounds great. My living room is small but very open. I mounted my stuff on the walls and sound even better. Although i do hate the wireless reciever. kinda sucks sometimes
