Fireworks on the lake SUCK on the 4th in Chicago. They're like 10 minutes long. The 3rd is the big fireworks day for the city (to signify the battle the night before our actual Independence day).

We went on the 4th last year and were quite disappointed.

5 of us went out on the boat and killed 49 beers. One out of the five only had 2, so ya, we were tanked. Drunk fucker snapped the key off in the ignition so we just sat there and drank until we eventually called Sea Tow hours later. Went swimming to other boats begging for beer and met some awesome people. Worked on boat until it got dark when we got it out of the water, ate lots of food, banged my ex gf and now laying in bed. Turned out to be a good night, hope you all had fun and stayed safe.

Yup, had fun, blew up several pounds of explosives, got minor burns on both thumbs from lighting cannon fuse with a mini lighter.

Overall a great time!

That sounds like the night I would have had if I didn't work until 2:30am. I did get to see the fireworks at Liberty State Park though. They were OK. I could hear Macy's in the distance and just from the sound they were way better.

sounds like a pretty good racket... Too bad you foot the bill.
I think this is the first year since I was 10 that I didn't personally light anything off. Lame...

late to the thread, but i was too broke to fly anywhere, so i roadtripped to san diego for the weekend and beach-bummed it at ocean beach. caught the OB fireworks from sunset cliffs, and kayaked mission bay this morning. kicked ass, all around.

oh oh - i forgot i wanted to say "HEY GUYZ!! I GOT A KAYAK!!" but i didn't really, i just borrowed one. hehe. the best kayaks are the ones you give back when you're done having fun. lol..

that's kinda cool/good to know; i think something similar was happening in san diego; there were tons more fireworks on the 3rd than the 4th.

Fun day that was. We got a half a stick of dynamite. I got to watch from about 100 feet away. F---ing dome of light. It was phenomenal

Then we played beer pong.
Then we did shots.
Then all of a sudden it was 7 in the morning and I had no recollection of what happened.
