yep.. went back to the BAR ref. hoping i would pass after i got a valve adjustment and changed my cat. nope.. i measured higher than i ever have..i failed on 3 tests instead of 1...... FUCK!!!

anyone have any ideas of what could be doing this.. i circled where i went over..

the top is the idle and the bottom is the 2500 rpm
the pic is a little blurry here are the readings

CO2= 14.2(idle) 14.4 (2500)
02= 0.0 (idle) 0.1 (2500)
HC=341 (idle) max = 100 <---failed
HC=132 (2500) max = 130 <---- failed
CO=1.18 (idle) max = 1.00 <----- failed..
CO=0.83 (2500) max = 1.00

cant really just get up and move.. once i get the sticker in the door i wont have any issues with smog.. i have a place that will smog it regardless... but not without the motor being registered in the car..

when i very first went there.. i measured 120 on the idle HC test... i changed what i needed to change.. went and tested again.. i measured at 276 on the idle HC test.. after that i changed my plugs, wires, put some guaranteed to pass bullshit in my car.. still nothing.. so after that i went to get a diagnostic to see why i measured even higher.. they told me to change my cat, get a valve adjustment and change my CTS and i should pass.. well that was bullshit .. i measured even higher and i failed 2 other tests after doing this shit..

i'm just gonna take it to a shop and have them do everything.. i'm sick of fucking with it..

what kind of cat did you put in?

and what is the HC? hydro carbons?
do you have a chipped ecu?
i would try getting a chip running lean for the test...
what octane are you running?
you could also look into running a half tank of toluene with the other half being 93 octane?
who did you valve adjustment?
do you have a FPR?

it just a cat from a muffler shop
yes, hydro carbons
no i dont have a chipped ecu, its a usdm p30 and i'm not touching it..
i run 91 octane..
local import shop did the valve adjustment
no i dont have a FPR, had one.. ref told me to lose it.. its an automatic fail..

its not welded to the exhaust manifold just after the cat..

.. i have to have a usdm p30 from the del sol vtec to pass

try running like 60% denatured alcohol in the gas tank. i cant remember the exact ratio of gas to alcohol, but it will make you burn CLEAN. might be something to look into...

ouch, what kind of surgery?

i would look into the toluene or alcohol mix with gas...
might be cheating a little but it'll give you a clear smog cert...

well i had cancer.. and i had to have an ashcath put in my chest for a stemcell treatment to wipe out my cancer a while back.. i had it removed, so i'm a little sore..

i dont really have the money since i only get 750 a month for SSI/disability, and thats barely enough to pay rent.. but i have family members who have been helping me get by until i can start working again.. so the money isnt a problem, i'll just take it to a smog/repair shop and get it done right this time..

well.. i just got a call from the shop.. they say its the 02 sensor.. i had one replaced about 2 yrs ago and i'm assuming they put a cheap one, so they are replacing that and i should be good.. its a smog repair shop doing this so they can test it out afterwards
