If you watch it again, pay attention to the time after the dash cam'ed car stops. You can see him turn the lights on. Neither car had lights on until after the crash.

They'ld spend the rest of their life in jail. But, instead this idiot is gettin a paid vacation and he'll prally be sentenced to 90 days in county jail, gaurded by his best buddies. Not that he'll actually serve any full term.

For all of those, if the shoe was on the other foot, that happened by me awhile ago. Guy just got sentenced to 8 years for killing a cop while he was drunk.

Will this guy get the same? Probably not. He wasn't drunk. But he won't get off clean. And once the investigation is over his pay will be taken from him. It's a process.

Bunch of fucking cop haters. Did he do something wrong? Absolutely. But a good majority of this site is ready to jump on a cop when he rolls through a stop sign or is a dick. Because we're all perfect and are never dicks at our jobs.

If it was any other car with a civilian behind the wheel, we'ld still be sayin the same thing. Well, I would at least. Its just a lil more shocking and news worthy because an officer who is paid to keep ppl from breakin laws was doin just that, and cost 2 ppl their lives.

And dont compare any of us who may have been "dicks at our jobs" to this shit. I garantee no one in this thread was a dick one day and killed 2 ppl.

EDIT: For the record, Ive got close family that is in law enforcement, so a cop hater I am not.

That wasn't directed at this particular situation. That's most directed at the "I gOtz a BuLLsHit TickEt Yoooooo" threads. This guy wasn't a dick at his job. He wasn't doing it.

I explained, the reason he was getting paid is because the investigation isn't complete yet. Is this guy guilty? Sure. But the investigation hasn't proven it beyond a thread of doubt yet.

This shit happens all the time. Off duty cops in my area use patrol cars as cabs home when their drunk.

I think it was last summer a chief in a town around here was driving drunk. Got pulled over. They told him to get home. He got into an accident after that.

Fair enough, I misunderstood your post. Sorry.

In a cases like that, they should investigate the cop or cops that let him drive away IMO. But, then again, I dont know if they didnt get investigated.

Yeah he is still receiving pay because the investigation is not closed yet. You have to remember that he is Union.

This has been all over the news for months now... it happened in june.

Nearly all cops are suspended with pay due to union/state/bs regulations until they are officially proven guilty.

My opinion.....
I never trust any speed reports posted by police. i've seen first hand crashes that cops esitmated the driver was doing 85+ when i KNOW the guy was only half way through 2nd gear (40-ish) because i saw the whole shit.
The dash may have locked up at max speed, but the car also may have gotten air borne on impact and revved up to the claimed speed before failing/locking. With no load in top gear, its real easy to climb 30mph in under a second.

even if the cruiser was going 45 (i'm assuming thats the speed limit... maybe its a little lower) the teens would have BARELY made it in time.

the driver was thrown from the car, likely implying that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. had she not been thrown out, being on the opposite side of the impact, she likely would be hurt, but not dead. The passenger... ehh, likely no chance one way or the other taking the hit like that in the door.

I know the road. Boston Post Road, AKA Rte 1, even at night, is not an easy road to navigate. It switches from 3 to 1 to 2 to 1 to 4 to 1 to divided highway for 100 feet back to a traffic light.... etc. it's not a road for the easily intimidated driver.
Poor judgement on both parties IMO.... but i would file that under he got cut off by a n00b 19yr old chick driver in a brand new vehicle at 19 years old (which means daddy probably bought it for her), regardless of his aledged high rate of speed.

counterpoint: if he was going faster, he would have never hit them either.

The issue is, had those cops seen two people racing down the street, they would have pulled them over, jailed them, impounded their cars, maybe crushed them, and plastered their names all over the news papers. ZOMG STREET RACERZZZ!!!

Cops are held to the highest standards because they enforce the law. They have the same rules that we do, but they break them all the time without consequence, if we break them, speed racer there would scribble out a ticket without batting an eye.

I don't know how many times I've seen cops do this shit, do burn outs, slide corners, etc. And they aren't going anywhere, they are just dicking around.

As far as the accident, it is clearly the girl's fault. But had the cop been doing the speed limit when he hit her, she may have lived, maybe not.. He may have been able to avoid the accident all together. But he was too busy tearing up a tax payer funded vehicle just for the fun of it.

You all did notice the speed on the dashcam in the top right hand corner right? The car that took the video was doing 72 and wasn't keeping up with the other cop... just saying.

Put him in a crash test car and slam a Semi into his faggot ass. suspended with pay? I'd pay to shoot him several times and remove all finger and toe nails with pliers. Fuck that cop, fuck both of them actually.
