Default Swap my A6 twin turbo for RS6 Twin Turbo?

I was thinking of trading in my 2003 Audi A6 2.7 6spd Twin Turbo tuned 318hp 354lbs tq with 47k on it for a 2003 Audi RS6 4.2 V8 Twin Turbo 450hp(untuned), fully loaded with carbon fiber package(no nav though) and 58k. The only thing I hate is that they are Automatic. My payment would go up $120/m too. Money is not really an issue but i'm having a hard time going to Automatic and I don't want an RS4 its to small.

Should i suck it up and get it and ignore that it's an Automatic?

if it is the DSG (or whatever they are calling it now) like the TT with the 3.2 V6 has then its actually pretty badass and sweet to drive... auto mode was smooth and precise, manual mode was just sick... the shifts were sharp and very fast, everything was smooth as hell

it is the first non-clutched shift system ive been happy with... i could drive that car every day and never care about the lack of third pedal

i would definitely drive it

Testdrive it. And by testdrive, have the dealer let you borrow it for a few days. Get to know how it feels with your commute.

I'm pretty much a non-automatic guy, but srsly. Audi's DSG is really nice. I drove an S3 with it two weeks ago, if audi didn't have such horrid customer service, I would have bought it on the spot. I'd give up my clutch for that transmission any day. (I'd just have to have a 'manual style brake pedal' so I wouldn't accidently slam on the brakes on the autobahn.... that got me into some trouble before.)

After two days I gave the car back to the dealership, and decided I'm going to get an accord with a diesel engine.

Most european dealerships. Besides, they know where to find you, and your car. I didn't think it was uncommon.

are you talking brand new cars?
maybe its just NY but i think if a car has more than 500 miles on the odo it can't be sold as new anymore

my coworker used to work for benz and they'd go to NJ to get the cars off the boat and drive them back, but it got shot down, supossidely because of the regulations

maybe its just high $$$ dealerships/cars

All the ones i go to do. Before I bought my audi I took home a 2004 Mercedes ML500 SUV to test dirve for a day. And i drove the audi for the day.

The RS6 is such a bad ass fucking car too. I did drive one but i'm so mentally stuck on having the six speed...uhhhg decisions.....

The honda dealership I went to asked me if I wanted to drive an accord for a week 'just to make sure' I wanted it. I declined their offer though, instead I took it on a speed run with the salesman in the car.

Quote:
"How fast will this go?"
"I don't know, try it"
-after getting to a speed-free zone of A3-
"Hrm. only 225. Can you remove the speed limiter?"
"yeah, when you pick it up, we'll have one of the techs remove that for you."
-still crusing at the limit-
"No, I ment on this one, then we can take it out again"
"I'd rather not, we have to keep the test-model safe."

Honestly, I've had enough of fast cars, so I don't think I'm going to get it removed. But the thought of something with 4 doors and a trunk as fast as the TT I drove is amazing. I love the feel of the accord. And the diesel model actually has some torque too. <3

@E_SolSi:
The S3 is a really nice car. I loved the feel of the quattro model, just I'm not so sure that it'd make a good daily driver for me. It's nice and all, but it just felt weird. Maybe because it was quattro, I'm not sure.

I don't mind automatic for a cruising type of car.

Honestly, manual is my life, but in some cases I think I'd prefer an automatic.

with luxury cars, i'd take auto over manual.. but only in that case... the car has plenty of power to have fun w/ an auto.. i say do it.. got pics of your A6?

i like small cars... unfortunately there aren't many small cars left in the US... everything keeps getting bigger and bigger ... I'm also kinda pissed we only get the 4 door A3 here the coupe is dieing in the US as well... i have no kids, i don't even want any kids, and don't care to cart around all of my friends... I'm perfectly fine with a 2 door car that only carries 2 people comfortably

i drove the 3.2 TT coupe and fell in love with it... it drove beautifully, it handled well, the brakes were good, the seats felt good, the fit and finish of everything was good... all in all a great small 2 door 2 seater (the back seat is a joke and cant really be used for anything more than emergencies)

Hahahaha. I crammed three people in the back. Not small people either. Think 5'11"+ and 220 lbs. They said it was extremely scary.

I loved the TT as well. It is pretty close to being perfect. I'm glad the new ones don't have that stupid bubble shape either. I was about to buy one, then I remembered how small the back-seat was. If the rear seat was a little bigger, it'd be worth a shit, but then again, people back there really fuck with the weight distribution, and you can't really 'drive' with them back there. I'd probably but a four door though, or at least a coupe with some decent rear room. Unfortunately the Accord here doesn't have a two door.

Ok, seriously I'm done jacking your thread.

See if they'll let you drive it for the weekend or something. That way you'll get a really good idea if it's worth it.

Well i was never bored of the Vette, i just had to sell it at the time. But i do get bored of Auto. I'm just worried that if i do this, I will get bored of it.

My other thought was holding out until this is paid off and getting a later model S6 a few years down the road. Hell by then they will be pumping 550+ HP.

Or my when the A6 is paid off getting a twin turbo Z06 and keeping the A6 for the winter.

The more i think about im just not sure i want an auto car unless it was an SUV. If it was a six speed i would have not even posted and would be doing donuts in parking lot today!

I'd say do it, mainly because I've rode in one and its far from being a "slow-matic". It has a sport-shift option, much like the auto LGT's. Not DSG. It cruises nice, and it doesn't feel like a boosted car, per say - I didn't drive it - but it didn't seem that laggy.

IMHO, get the RS6 since they will hold their value more than a modded A6 - ontop of it being a nicer car all around.
