YEEEEAAHHHHH
Don't get me wrong, I have incredible respect for proper LEO's - but stuff like this pisses me off. Granted, the guy was being a dick on a bike - but still.

Report: Motorcyclist arrested for recording cop brandishing gun with helmet cam — Autoblog

Plain clothes trooper pulling a duty weapon on a motorcyclist who is stopped at a red light? Whaa?

This day in age - I've seen too many stories about people impersonating police. But jailing someone because they unknowingly had his helmet cam on when he was stopped by an off duty trooper? Sounds like abuse of the system once again.

Spread the video, because lord knows the Maryland State Police were trying to get their hands on it before it hit the interwebs.

JUST YESTERDAY, 822am... my aunt was outside of my apartment and witnessed this LEO bullshit.

homie works for the town here in southbridge. comes rampaging through a 4-way intersection, he had a red light, but was obviously accellerating for a good few seconds and ran the light - the light turning red long before he got to the intersection. now it is a 25mph road, he sure was going atleast double that. brakes brakes brakes.... and CRASH! takes out a light pole and electrical junction box about 20 feet from my place.

now its quite obvious sir here broke a bunch of laws. what fucking kills me, is that he was NOT cited for anything. not only that, but the hour i was standing outside (because why bother going back inside, i have no power now) one of the LEOs left and brought everyone at the scene a coffee including mr. law breaking douchefuck. he was never written a citation - even though his SUV is definitely totaled, destruction of town property and public property, speeding, running a traffic light.

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!? i wrote our town offices and the southbridge PD a nice letter, signed by the folks in my building, neighbors, and passers-by that were observing the scene.

unbelieveable. i am no longer donating to my local PD. they can go fuck themselves.

wow bros.. its the same way here too cops make up there own rules and do pretty much what they want... note- to any cops that may be on this forum if u r a stand up model cop this is not for u... hell the judge in my town got a DUI before.. and one of the sherrifs in the town over had been in prison

This crap happens all the time in MD.

I got pulled over on the bike to check for my license once. I filed a formal complaint, because all the dickbag did was made me late to where I was going.

EDIT: One night while driving back from the community college (about 9pm) I was pulled over in the car for using a turn signal to announce my intention to exit a roundabout. The PLAINCLOTHES state trooper got out of his UNMARKED car and asked for my license and registration. I asked to see his badge, and he hesitated. It took him a couple seconds to pull the badge out of his pocket. After he ran my registration, he came back and asked to take a look in the trunk. I informed him that I didn't consent to a search of my property. He said alright, and went back to his car. He came back in a couple minutes, handed me my registration and license back and gave me a stern verbal warning about excessive signaling. I got his badge number, and then when I got home I filed a formal complaint with the state police.

Another time, I was pulled over for "going too fast." I asked the officer how fast I was going (knowing I was going the speed limit, and I had my winter tires on, so I should have been going 1.8% slower) he said he "visually estimated my speed at about 5mph over." When I asked him how fast the car that just went by us was going (he pulled me over on a four-lane divided highway) he said he didn't know. He ran my license and registration, and brought it back after he wasted approximately 20 minutes of my time, and gave me no ticket at all, just a warning to not speed, and that in his experience people with radar detectors tend to speed more. I asked him when signal detection equipment was outlawed in MD, and he said "it's not to my knowledge." I asked him if I was free to go, and for his badge number, and filed a formal complain when I got back home.

One more time, I was driving home from my parents house, going the speed limit, some guy was tailgating me, so I took my foot off the gas. Keep in mind, this was a 30mph zone, and I had been doing exactly 30mph. He flashed his brights, and I got down to 25mph. He then decided to pass me (double yellow, school zone, almost 10pm). After passing, he cut over extremely close to my car, so I flashed my brights, and signaled my horn as I slowed down. He then slammed on the brakes. A cop was sitting on a side street, and saw some part of this, and apparently raidioed in a stolen car. We got to the red light, and the guy who passed me stopped, then jumped out of his car, and ran to my car, banged on the window as the cop rolled up with lights on.

At this point I was on my horn almost 100%, and was unable to back up to GTFO of there, because someoen was behind me. The cop jumped out, drew his service weapon, and instructed the guy to get back into his car. The guy got back into his car, and the officer reholstered his weapon, and walked up to the guy's car, got license and registration, then came to my car and got my license and registration.

I told the officer (who I just saw draw and aim) that my wallet was in my backpack on the back seat. He said "alright," and gave no other signs that he was going to say anything. I said "I'm going to get it" and waited for him to give acknowledgement, then reached back to get it. I gave him the license and registration, then waited 15 minutes for him to come back. He came back, asked me what happened, I explained, then he went to the guy in front, talked to him, came back to me and said "we're going to move you guys out of the intersection, just pull up and turn on the road on the right" So we did. He came back and talked to the guy in front a bit, came talked to me a bit, got indignant with me, told me that he thought my car was stolen, and the lights and horn were the alarm. He told me that I needed to calm down, and that I was a vigalante for "taking matters into my own hands." I just said kept quiet and let him get everything out.

He went back to his car, and his buddy walked up to my car, looked in the windows (thought I couldn't see him all dressed in black/dark blue) then looked in the other guy's windows. The cop came back, gave the guy in front of me his license and registration back, then the guy drove off. The cop came back to me, gave me a ticket, my license and registration and told me how he didn't see what happened, so he "could only give me a ticket for following too closely, using my brights, and using my horn." I let him explain everything, then he told me that he talked to the lady behind both of us, who saw the whole thing. I just kept my mouth quiet, and made a mental note of the supposed witness. I'm taking this one to court.

we must just be lucky around here. I've never had any issues with LEO's around here.

Before anyone says anything, this was all BEFORE I put the giant ricer sticker on my car and got vanity plates.

Strangely I've heard nothing but bad things about MD/VA cops, staties or the likewise.

I won't even get into the crap Mass Staties have done with me, along with local yokels - but lets say I have a spotless record and have been pulled over nearly 80 times. Driving a lowered Honda Civic is the biggest cop magnet. A target of opportunity for sure. I've been in situations where I've been pulled over in the same town twice along the same route simply because of suspicion. I got fed up with being dicked around in a certain town in MA and started taking badge numbers and filing complaints. Filed a complaint against two troopers out of the Millbury barracks, due in part to a no-cause search of my vehicle, and verbal abuse for going too slow on a highway (trooper was behind me).

Lately I haven't gotten any hassle at all, which is surprising considering I don't have a front plate. But I was stopped twice in my Sentra in the year and a half I owned it - and not once in the 5 months I've had the Fit.

^^ if anyone knows chris (im sure ep3moschini can say the same) hes one of the nicest most polite people ive ever met in my life.

interesting enough i never get dicked over in nbridge and wville. only in charlton/oxford/uxbridge.

I have gotten less police attention since installing the "HONDA" banner across my windshield than before.

And if police weren't there you'd be whining and moaning that people constantly stole from you or w/e. We need cops, some of them are dicks, get the fuck over it. Seriously. Most of the time its the state/county/etc's money problems that have the police bothering you at a constant rate, or you are just in denile about being an asshole. I like to think I'm a nice dude, and very polite. I have gotten out of plenty of very warranted tickets (driving with a suspended license because i cant afford to pay the tickets i have for no state inspection/emissions).

Thanks Chris!

The town I was going to mention (but most people wouldn't know) is Mendon. The most miserable group of LEO's this side of Nazi germany. Lets get a small run down of offenses I've been pulled over for, yet not ticketed.

-going the speed limit for too long in front of a marked cruiser
-not wearing a seatbelt, though I was wearing one when the officer approached the vehicle
-not having a front plate, even though at the time I had one on the front of my car
-modified exhaust (14 times, twice in one day back in july 07')
-excessive swerving to avoid potholes
-making an illegal turn (passing a person stopped to take a left hand turn on a green light)
-having my foglights on
-having yellow foglights
-having too bright of foglights
-was pulled over by a marked cruiser after brake checking an unmarked detect - who tailgated me whilst I did 5 over the limit for close to 3 miles
-and I've been stopped for speeding 3 times all of which resulted in either written or verbal warning.

This town is so small and overfunded that they have 8 cruisers, a police F250 and two motorcycle cops. Town has one state highway that runs through it and one franchise.

Luckily their hiding places are predictable and their barely ever hide well enough to not be seen.

I'd take several detours and burn the extra gas just to go around that route after maybe the 3rd BS pullover.

Believe me, I tried - but I'm only in the town for close to 8-9 minutes, so the detour would not be worth it.
