So here it goes, i havent touched my guitar in like 2 years but i pulled it out and started recording some songs for fun, i use to write my own. Let me know whatcha all think. I recorded and did all the vocals (was going for an emo-acoustic sound, first attempt for me) on the song Jet Plane a classic tune, feel free to bash me i expect ppl will. Maybe some might enjoy it? took me an hour to edit/play/sing all vocals...

Jet Plane - Acoustic

And here are some smilies that you may have thought of posting up regarding this thread to save myself from the ownage of HS..

i think it sounds cool. the one thing that bugs me though is "background" vocals. your voice sounds better the way you sing the main part of the song, i don't care for the higher pitched singing. it could sound good, i just dont think it goes with that song.
good job though mang

Yea, it's not bad, just need some work where you sound nasal-y.
Totally not my style whatsoever, so for me to say "it's not bad" is a compliment.

Mullets are cool.

Nice work on the vocals. Play that guitar more. It's good for your soul.
What did you record it on?

Welcome to Sweetwater.com | Call Us @ 800 222 4700 get yourself a nice setup for recording. $1000.00 should get you enough toys to hold you over for awhile.

kill some of the reverb, and work on your mixing skills with the background vocals.

over all not bad, props for posting something like this.

Phonic Helix Board 12 FireWire Close-Up | Sweetwater.com
Line 6 TonePort UX2 | Sweetwater.com
Shure SM58 | Sweetwater.com
Hosa MMK015 | Sweetwater.com

Should make for a good start.

oh and screw acid. if you're going to use anything sony wise get sound forge, I'd still use Sonar over sound forge, however, I do like sound forge when doing final rips. from mp3s to wavs.

"edit" link to sound forge, Sony Media Software - Sound Forge 8
once again I'd rock sonar before sound forge since sound forge is more so a sound editer, sonar is a home studio...
either way, you can't go wrong with using both =)

man dont waste money on that shit. just get a good computer setup, unless you're doing some live recordings it's a waste. you can mix everything yourself.

I'm not sure how good that phonic helix board is but it's firewire so it cought my eye. =)

If you want to do a kick ass setup for recording on your computer you can get it for $1000.00 or less. if you want to do a kickass setup for doing live recordings and such... lets just say you could buy a newer car for the same cash. (if done right)

I like it. You could work on the vocals, but you're way more developed than most of the people that send me their stuff.

On a related note, I bought another Mountain Dulcimer.. and I'm getting back into that.
