Yea i had a 86 prelude that done this.I went thru like five clutchs now the presure plate was fine it was the springs in the clutch that would come out wheni would take the trans out when i would change it.Yea i would be going down the road shifting gears and then hear a noise and then boom...
Check your timing marks on your belt make sure it comes up top dead center.When i bought my 90 hatch dx it was a tooth off on the belt.It sounded good and idled good but when i went to go thru the gears its like it got weak.Hope this helps
Yea he can do it from underneath.My engine is from a 88 dx and had about 220000 on it and it was smoking bad like a half a quart every three days. Its daily drivin. All i did was blocked the bottom of the cylinders with clean rags and honed it out real good and reringed it and put the bottom...

it prob needs reringed i done mine about 2 half months ago mine was smoking really bad it was like bluesh black smoke anyway it fine now and got more more. its a90 hatch
