Huh, I haven't noticed it but I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I don't ride around a lot with it in manual mode. I tell you what though, for the power it has available it sure does get amazing gas mileage if you want it to.

The one I'm driving lets you hit rev limit. I haven't had it switch gears on its own. Even my IS300 lets you run up and won't shift until you press the button/paddle.

Throwing the IS out because you won't have a clutch but can do exactly the same thing, save the maintenance costs? Huh... ok. Guess, I don't understand that one... lol.

Maybe I missed it or it hasn't been brought up. Have you thought about an IS250/350? My IS300 is currently in the shop at the dealership, so they gave me a 2012 IS350 to run around in until my car is ready. I've had the 350 for two days now and I am beyond impressed with it. Amazing response...
