The slack is always supposed to be on the waterpump side, so the tensioner can take it up. That's likely what caused your failure, that guys "best" wasn't good enough IMO.

Del Sol's are shorter than civic/integra applications, you need the shift linkage from a Del Sol SIR (factory B16).

I believe you can use any B-series axles (just keep in mind the ABS rings when you are picking axles), you need a Del Sol B-series shift linkage (shorter than other B-series linkages, can't use D-series), probably easiest to run an OBD1 ecu with B18b basemap (getting tuned would be BEST).

OBD1 ecu uses only 1 O2 sensor, the one before the cat in the manifold/header. That's what makes your decision, as that's what decides if you throw CEL's or not. Use the sensorless cat, if your ecu is OBD1, you wont' throw any CEL's.

X3, if you plan on being competitive, an engine swap is not the way to get there.

The Y8 has the best FACTORY intake manifold for the d-series, as well as the best head design, but the oil pump is a major flaw.
