Well it could be oil, a lot of people when they know they will be storing a motor for a long period of time will put oil in through the spark plug holes to keep rust and water out. Theres more to why its done but its 3am and i cant think lol.
You will have to modify the shift linkage in the car just like any normal swap. The axles from what i had to do on my H22 swap was get new hubs mounted so it would work in my hatch. If there is a shop close to you ask them. They will usually be cool and make out a list of what you need.
Motor mounts, axles, shift linkage ( i think ) and thats probably about it. the rest is wiring and such. There is sites around if you look or google it on doing the swaps, they usually enplane everything you need, and everything you need to do.
Yeah i just looked today and found they dont have them. All you would need to do is just snag them from a prelude and fab up mounting points. like i said.
There are mounts, hasport makes them along with most other companies. they go for about 350 or so. Its a lot of work, but i love my H swap in the hatch, sadly im selling her. Ide say for the 01 civic or what ever its going into you will have to use normal prelude mounts and fab up the mounting...
Its doable but its not going to be cheap. you will need the mounts, axles and some other odds and ends to do it. Also you will need to have a stronger spring rate in the front to compensate for the extra weight of the H motor.
If he stays around 350 or so the titanium retainers are not needed. Just get a set of Skunk2 retainers and springs, as well as valves. Then you should be fine. The titanium are supposed to be used if your making a serious amount ( probably around 500 or more ) and need to be changed out every so...
Got to remember, the H22 does not like boost ( for the most part ). When you are going to be pushing some power you need to get good parts. Sleeves is a huge part of it, so make sure you get real good ones. Remember. The saying " You get what you pay for" Means a lot.
Yeah its going to cost quite a bit, for me it was : $1000 for sleeves and getting the block sleeved, $500 for low compression pistons $700 for race rods. And there is more to it. Ive spent about 8 grand on my motor, and shes built to take anything. One big reason most people don't do the H...
Got this when i got my eg, getting rid of it cause im turning my hatchy into a track car so the whole car is being gutted. It is in beautiful condition nothing wrong with it that i can see. Asking 270 for it or most reasonable offer. I also have a CF duck bill wing that was on the car, I will...
