okay ya i couldn't figure out why people say its bad for your engine or transmission. Especially in a civic si, they're made for high revs.

So I have another question, a little off topic but I heard that skipping a gear when shifting is bad for the transmission. is this true? for example like you're cruising down the freeway in 6th gear and then you want to pass someone up and you down shift to fourth.
