![]() Mods can move this to "other vehicles" if they don't think it belongs here. I'm planning on putting a better motor controller on it to increase range and speed. |

You both are just jealous. :P
Edit, but it kinda sucks, I don't have any vehicle that will go over 118mph anymore ![]() |

Let me explain, even though half of you have already heard this...
I work on a military base. I hate driving distances of like 3 miles in the car, only to shut off the engine for 30 minutes, and come back and drive another 3 miles. It sucks. If I use this thing, I don't have to do that, and I don't have to burn gasoline. I charge it at work. Now, on base, if you have anything gas-powered, you have to have it insured. There's no way I'd insure a gas-scooter just to ride it on base. You also have to wear full gear with a gas-scooter/motorcycle. This is electric, and they don't know what to make of it, so they treat it like a bicycle. I get full use of the roads, and I just have to wear a helmet and reflector belt. Win. Speed limits are right around 20mph all over base, so going 15 isn't a big deal. Win. It takes me 6.5 minutes to get to the shopette to buy my afternoon bottle of Diet Mt Dew, and another 6.5 to get back. it takes 10 minutes in the car. To get to the closer building on base, it takes about 3 minutes by scooter each way. In the car it takes about 3 minutes. To get to the really far building on scooter, it's about 15 minutes each way. In the car, it's 8 minutes. I don't know if I'll ride the scooter out that far, 6 miles roundtrip is kinda pushing it.... You get the idea, it kinda makes sense for me. I got this thing for cheap on CL, and I don't pay for power to charge it. Win. |

I bought another one today. It had a flat tire, messed up throttle, brake, horn, keys, no charger , and batteries in need of charging. Fixed everything but the messed up keys, brakelight and horn. Patched the inner tube, and it held air. <3 I'm going to swap out the key-switch with a normal switch to simplify things.
It'll ride now, just not very safely without a brake light. Just need to let it charge all day tomorrow. With only 250W, and the same size batteries, it should have a bit better distance than the one I have at work. Total cost: $67.55 |
