I'm paying $41.16/mo now for my 125. I've got a 500 deductable, and whatever the standard liabilities are in germany.
How does that compare with everyone else? |

hahahaha... I pay up front, $300 a year for full coverage on my 12. my 250 was $125 a year. I have no clue why there is a difference.
Bike insurance is cheap because liability is low (a 300 pound mass hitting something doesn't do much damage). But if you get a Harley you get an automatic 25% increase. No reason other than "it's more expensive". __________________

wow 300 a year is cheap for a "sport bike" most people i know pay at the minimum 1000 a year on sport bikes. cruisers are cheap cause well not to many ass clowns stunt or do 1 bazillion miles an hour on one.

wow, and as far as I knew I had it cheap. 100/month Full coverage for a 21yr old with two speeding tickets (one 89 in a 55) on a 2007 GSX-R600. First bike, and it was brand new. I was even quoted by Geico at 7k a year! thats only 2k less than I paid for the bike.

thanks. Its through Allstate. They insure my Camaro too so maybe I got a discount. Plus i turned 21 and got both tickets off my record (3yr drop off) since I bought it so they said it will go down.

god damn, i tried to get state farm, and since i didn't get insurance with them within 30 days of getting the bike, they wouldn't insure me. geico wanted $3000 for a year or some shit.
i'm 28 with a clean record, whats the deal? __________________

I'm going to buy a bike here soon. I just have to get a job first, then we'll see how bad insurance is. I'm 21, clean record, and three driving schools. The guys at the bike shop said that insurance isn't too bad here in MD as long as you've got a clean record, and have insured a bike before.

YAh old threads back to life.
about 70/mo full coverage with progressive, i don't remember what my deductible was. with my 1998 GS500E I pay about 50 month for the rex liability only, with USAA. Being 22 doesnt help. i keep hearing it was 24 or 25 rates should decrease I also had some drivers Ed class here in PA. I have a clean driving record with 1 speeding ticket about 2 years ago, warrant out for my arrest in Australia , and my Metro was rear ended by some chick last summer, her fault, I was stopped, she never hit the brakes. only because the 2 companies have a sort of agreement, in this case, usaa doesnt offer motorcycle insurance
kinda like having 2 cars under the same plan, but if you take separate companies you end up paying more. like if you have geico for one car and progressive for another you will be paying X for car A and Z for car B but more insurance companies if you stack cars, will give a rate for X for car A and percentage of Z. So you end up paying less. It's a little hard to drive both cars at the same time, same goes for bikes. |

I've insured two bikes through USAA. EDIT: One was even when I didn't have my car insured through them. |
